Buckskin purebred mare Akhelana was born in 2006 on the Dagestan studfarm, which was founded by the great breeder Vladimir Shamborant. Akhelana is the daumanghter of dark-buckskin Doburlan - one of the best sons of Polot, imported from Turkmenistan. Duburlan's mother is the bay mare Dunja, also born in Turkmenistan, in Kolkhoz Mir. In 1990, the Dagestan stud purchased Dunja in a breeding exchange, and there she has fully proven herself as a magnificent broodmare. Duburlan is the best foal ever born to her. Duburlan is highly graded by experts: type - 8,0 points, conformation - 8,0 points. He is the brother of these well known horses: Alaman, Manas, Feisal, Piastr and other known champions of the breed.

The mother of Akhelana, bay mare Ahcha, is the daughter of the magnificent Dagestan out of Aralia. Dagestan is considered one of the best Julduz sons - standard of Akhal-teke breed. He was born in 1976, and Vladimir Shamborant valued the newborn foal so highly that he made him a symbol of Akhal-Teke breeding in the Dagestan Republic. Aralia is the daughter and granddaughter of such great racers as Opal and Kaltaman.
